This has been the best year for future N sacle releases. The newest Manufactured Releases shows 38 models in preorder status. It finally puts the list over the 300 mark! Thank You to the guys that helped identify these models. Also a new sheet has been added for undecorated models for those who like to custom paint and decal. Though not complete it is a starting point and with some help will add more data for custom Frisco models. Please conact me if you have information. Joe
This year has a lot of models in preorder status, 39 total. Six new models have been released in the last couple of months. The Matrix format has been changed a little, with brass models going to the bottom of list. Other minor details have been updated. Joe
Sorry to be late with this announcement. Micro-Trains promotional language states, “This 50’ standard box car with plug door and no roofwalk is painted blue with black and white “Coon Skin” herald and “Ship it on the Frisco” logo. Lettering is white. It was built in March 1969 by Chicago Freight Car as a 40’ box car; it was re-built to a 50’ car that same year. The car runs on black Barber Roller Bearing trucks. St. Louis-San Francisco Railway leased 75 of these rebuilt box cars, giving them a blue paint scheme without the usual exclamation mark on the end of the slogan. The cars were equipped with Evans DF-2 Belt Rails.” The road number is 15535, Micro-Trains stock number 038 00 480 and the manufacturer’s suggested retail price is $19.75.
I just received an email from BLMA and the PS-4000 hoppers that were previously announced have been delivered. There are 3 road numbers and they are listed in Charlie's Excel spreadsheet.
I am excited about the new tank cars. I'll probably order both numbers, but I must say it makes me wish I was still doing the hostler's layout. Paul
I'm not claiming credit for getting Micro-Trains to produce these but I made a blog post here in September and following that I did talk to Micro-Trains and they said it sounded like a good idea. I had no idea whether or not that was serious. Obviously it was. I've updated my nFrisco web-site here. This is really good news! Charlie
Charlie .. First time that I have seen your web-site. Very nicely done .. Thank you for all your work.
I will most definately be putting both of the new MT tank cars to work in company fuel service at 19th Street Yard in KC on my new layout. Thanks Charlie. I picked up the new BLMA PS-4000 hoppers too. They look great. Will have to see if those body mount couplers get along well with all my truck mount couplers. Any youse N scalers hear anything about the release of the Intermountain FP-7 (In the Frisco b/y paint)? Announced in may 2010! Supposedly to be deliverd in March 2011, then APRIL, now MAY (or is that MAY-be??) Thanks, Tom
I haven't heard on those Tom but I found out the Intermountain boxcars (6 numbers) were cancelled. I do have another new announcement posted today though.
I see on Intermountain's wunnerful "Upcoming Releases" webpage that the Frisco black and yellow FP-7 engines and accompanying F-7B units are delayed until December!!?? http://www.intermountain-railway.com/newsncomingsoon.html Tom Edit: IM FP-7 now delayed to July 2012!!! I'm hoping to live long enough...
Thanks Charlie, Your wordpress postings are the greatest. I have been out of the ball game awile for a move and personal health, but I am felling a little better now. Hope to update my matrix with the new information you provided and will post soon. Again Thank You For Your Wordpress JoeLovett
Charlie, It appears that there is quite a bit information on Frisco models in all scales posted in several locations. In regards to my request for an All Scale Product Data Base simular to the one that the GM&OHS has on their site it appears that all of the Frisco material could be combined together and updated on a regular basis. Your N scale list is very impressive! Joe Toth
Joe: This is a good idea in my opinion and would be well received. I try to post information on new products as they are released but do miss ones sometimes. Since I am modeling HO I really don't monitor N scale as close as people like Charlie do. Anyway, since you seem to keep bringing this repeatedly, why don't you volunteer to take on the project? In the case of HO models, once you start the database and get a format set, myself and others can fill in the blanks.
