Folks, As you all know by now, we are now post-software upgrade and ironing out minor issues. I think that the process went as easily as it could. We did encounter expenses, not all paid for at this point. The software costs are not entirely covered so far and I did also have to hire an expert to install Elastisearch and the redirect script for the old forum. I had trouble with that when converting TrainBoard so this time I took a different approach. Second, most of you know that TrainBoard and Frisco.org now share a dedicated server. The bill is now due on the server and most of it is covered by TrainBoard. The past years worth of donations were used for the Frisco Archive and none of the money was used for the server. In other words TrainBoard (and I) covered it all. To make matters worse, the server that we have now, a big one, is not on the plan that we are going to be on in the future. We can get a brand new one with a different back up system (better I am told) for a better price. The problem is, we have to change servers (move the data). We will be down for a short time in a few days while this occurs (probably just a few hours). So, we would accept contributions at this time. I am not going to push hard as people can usually recognize a need and act as they feel is appropriate. I do have a special gift that I am going to send to the first 18 people that donate $50 or more. A few have made such donations already (3 or 4 I think). I think people will like those gifts. If you are in the giving mood, now is the time. http://frisco.org/shipit/index.php?account/upgrades
13/18. Also folks, if you can't give $50, smaller donations add up too. $5 or $10 here and there is a big help too.
Thanks, Don, couldn't make that out .. Never had sent $15, and the keys ( $ and # ) on this here iPad are different screens.
Lol, someone had to make that mistake, was inevitable. I'm not Don (but that would be cool though...) My account name for everything else I am on is Frisco1522, so signing it like that is a force of habit, and I typed it in wrong. I will try to correct myself and keep my Avatar the same or at least different from Don's to help clarify. Sorry for the confusion! Frisco152251 P.S. No hard feelings, Don!
