    Folks,

Today on the Frisco Archive, our next post (at noon Eastern) will be a locomotive for which we have a trivia question (thanks to RogerRT).

As soon as the post appears I will post the trivia question. The person who gets the answer right will win an all-expense paid trip to Hawaii.

    Stay tuned.

Well, rats. That Hawaii trip just fell through so we'll be offering a hearty "GOOD JOB" to the person who gets the answer right.

Stay tuned for the question in just over one hour from this post.

Ok, here's the question: Roger has found something different about this locomotive (that was also noted to be different before the BN renumbering so that is not relevant). Can you identify what is different about this locomotive than other units of its kind?

I find that it has an extra set of brake cylinders on each truck.

    Ok I will bite.
I see an engine compartment sump drain hose behind the fuel tank that Green-ish hose. Sometimes it was just an open hole to the ground. This is where all the oil leaking off the engine, and related components was supposed to end up.
Also see some stenciling under the cab on the access panel, looks to be the type of brake shoes this locomotives used, not sure I remember seeing that on most Frisco engines either.

I don't see a builder's plate on the left side frame rail. All other GP38ACs and GP38-2s that I have seen the right side of have an EMD plate on the right and left sides.

None of these are the answer that Roger has in mind, but this is very interesting to see the details that you folks are able to extract from the image. These observations are all very good!

Keep trying and we will see if anyone can come up with the answer that Roger has in mind. Hint: It is something that (is apparently a modification that) would be common on another EMD locomotive but not a GP38-2.
