    My best guess of where the photo is taken:

    32°45'29.55"N
    97°19'8.41"W

    It's the only place in Fort Worth I can think of with the kind of relief seen in the photo, where the tracks are above the buildings on the right side, with a tight curve and a bridge toward the top right of the photo, and also where you could get an overhead shot from the highway. If this is the correct location, this would be the Purina Junction-Dalwor Junction leg of the wye on the Burlington-Rock Island main between Fort Worth and Dallas. Frisco used this to get to BN North Yard and still does to this day, although it is operated by the DFW commuter train Trinity Railway Express (and much better maintained). But at the time of the photo, the Rock had ceased operations for a few months and we were in the midst of a staggering heat wave. I don't know how much either played into the overgrown vegetation if at all, but I can testify it was a great time to be a train-watching kid living in Fort Worth.
