Re: BLI locos There for a minute I thought the E's above the one's marked "N Scale" were HO... I was mistaken. Darn.
Re: BLI locos Can anyone explain the logic of BLI producing two Frisco E8's, excellent though they may be, in two numbers/horse names that have already been done in good fashion years ago by P2K? For goodness sake, pick two different units to do! Ken
Re: BLI locos I already have five Life-Like (Two duplicates) and one Kato custom painted Racehorses, just don't need any more especially if BLI's engines are going to be previously released numbers. No matter how nice BLI's units are. They'd be nice for someone who missed out on the Life-Like units. Tom G.
Re: BLI locos I see these on BLW's website but not Broadway Limited. Anyone know the deal on that? Charlie
Re: BLI locos Broadway Limited apparently sent out a 2014 product list to thier dealers. I saw this listed on another forum a couple weeks ago. Paul
Re: BLI locos I contacted BLI about the "2200". "I see the announcement for two new N Scale Frisco E8 locos, posted on two dealers web sites. Both sites show the second loco,BLI-3256 as being #2200 Cavalcade. There was no E8 numbered 2200,they were numbered 2006-2022. The loco named Cavalcade was numbered2019. I hope you correct this by the time these are actually produced." This was their response: " Thank you for the email Larry. I completely overlooked that. We’ll change to 2019. Sincerely, Matt Williamson Broadway Limited Imports"
Re: BLI locos Larry, Thank you for taking the lead on this issue. However, there remains the issue of Broadway duplicating numbers and names that have been produced before by another manufacturer. How about Broadway producing new unused numbers and names? Hope this helps. Thanks! Mark
Re: BLI locos For their reference, the Life-Like units were numbered 2016, 2019, 2020 and 2022. I think 2007 (Whirlaway) and 2009 (Jet Pilot) would be fun names to have. Charlie
I am a fan of 2006, Traveler. Not only a descriptive name for a passenger engine, the Frisco's first E-8 and this was the name of the longtime horse of Robert E. Lee. Hope this helps. Thanks! Mark
I don't have any passenger trains yet. What passenger cars would go best with these engines? Thanks Mike Patrylo
The etched carsides from M&R models are the only available FrisCo lightweight cars. These are cars for the Texas Special, so they have a few details the cars built for the Meteor didn't have. Wheels Of Time has produced a few road numbers of Frisco Heavyweight baggage cars that are pretty close to being prototypically correct. Some of the Microtrains Sleepers are appropriate cars, but they have never been released in Frisco paint. I have one of them lettered and numbered as a Frisco coach ( which is prototypically correct). There are photos of that car somewhere on the site ( I don't have time to search right now, but I will look later ). Cars lettered for other roads may also be appropriate, but that depends on what train you are trying to model. Paul
Below is the link to the Broadway Limited catalog everyone is referring to. Upon downloading it type in page 45 on the bar at the bottom of the page. http://www.broadway-limited2.com/2014productguide/BLI2014ProductGuide.pdf
I have been checking their website to see if these are added. I can't find them although it appears that their site was updated with other new products in the last 48 hours or so. I wonder if it is too late to ask them to reconsider the road numbers? Charlie
After reading Larry Shankles' post #9, I sent another email to them pointing out that the locomotive numbers they indicated that they were releasing had already been produced by Proto 2000 and suggested two different numbers; 2006 -Traveler, as that locomotive represented the first of the series of E8As and 2015 -Twenty Grand, because that locomotive was caught in a manufacturer's photo that really makes it stand out as a representative of the Frisco E8As. I wonder if they are re-thinking the numbers to release.
