I am just about done with last weeks GE. Maybe get some outdoor photos soon. Paint is finished up. The decals are done. Even the god foresaken number boards. Ha. Weathering almost complete.
The top of the exhaust on these has a thin bolted flange. Some of you may know Tony Sissons, a pretty amazing modern power modeler. He had photoetched a few of the flanges for himself. He sent me a couple for my projects. You can tell from the note he is a real modeler. Lol.
If NS is bringing them up to "modern standards," you should only include the hogger's seat, since the carriers all want one man crews.
Been awhile since I posted any progress of much of anything. Anyways here is a Atlas WV caboose that was SL-SF, and with a few correct SL-SF caboose in service, this was stenciled of the QA&P. That gives me 5 road cabooses in service for the QA&P. Both still riding on those great caboose trucks, that had reputation of giving a smooth ride. An Atlas caboose, former Frisco, with red lights on both ends. A Athearn highly modified, done earlier, also has red light for and aft.
Thanks Andre ! You can use the bleed rod to change directions for the marker lights. How are you doing with the retirement thing?
I love retirement. The key is to have lots of interests and keep busy. I've got that covered in spades: Motorcycles (we're going on an all-dayer today), model trains (both diesel and steam), V scale, 1/32 slot cars, music, etc! Truth be known: IF I had known retirement would be this much fun... I would have retired when I was in my twenties.
TOM -- Superb model - I really like all the decaling! Andre -- Enjoy all you can - while you can! My candle is getting shorter: Spent all day ER yesterday with heart poblems.
Thanks Sherrel. Now, the business at hand for you is to LISTEN to the Doc, and DO whatever it takes to encourage your heart to stay in its "happy place".
Sherrel, Andre has offered some good advice. Also take any medications as prescribed and if offered do cardiac rehab. In addition, frequently connecting with family and friends goes a long way toward helping improve one's mental state. This cannot be overrated as you deal with the changes brought on by challenging health conditions. Wishing you all the best. Hope this helps. Thanks! Mark
