Here is an opportunity to obtain a unique Frisco steam locomotive model. I've decided to sell the final two of my Frisco brass steam locomotives (against the advice of a very good Frisco friend who had much to do with this model !). These two are my SLSF 1519, and then later, my SLSF 1522.

My SLSF 1519 is one of the famous PFM Toby HO Frisco 1500's, modified to reflect the last of the five engines in the Frisco 1500 4-8-2 Mountain "middle series", numbered SLSF 1515-1519. This model has seen very limited use, was recently expertly tuned, runs great, and is essentially in like new condition. It will come with its original PFM Toby box, with original foam, all in very good shape. I've owned it for roughly 27 years, essentially all of that time it has been in storage in its box.

This model was modified and decorated by Don Wirth - making it one of the premier Frisco 1500 models available. Note the excellent detail in Don's work in the attached pic - in particular the wide smokebox door and the rearward position of the sand dome, typical characteristics of the SLSF 1515-1519 series. Another unique feature on this model is the nickel plated cylinder and valve head covers. Don's expertise in decorating Frisco steam locomotives is well known. This is a beautiful Frisco locomotive model - reflecting the good looks of the real thing.

I want to offer this model to frisco.org members before putting it up for auction to the general public.

Very few people who have a Frisco PFM Toby 1500 in their collection have one that is modified to reflect the middle series. Only 500 Frisco PFM Toby 1500's were made in total, all as the third series - SLSF 1520-1529. Only a few (I have been told of three, including this one) were modified to reflect the second series, SLSF 1515-1519.

    Price: $825.00

Payment: Personal check or money order (no PayPal on this item)

Shipping: USPS Priority Mail actual cost, or, local pickup or delivery if possible. I live in St Louis, am frequently in the Kansas City area, and at least once/twice per year am in the Rolla/Springfield area.

I know this is an expensive piece, but think of the unique, high quality model that is being offered. In a more normal economy, this model would be worth well over the asking price. FYI, an undecorated PFM Toby Frisco 1500 is listed on eBay right now for $1000.

    Thanks.

    Karl -

Thanks and congratulations! You have made a very wise investment.

Though I have a heavy heart (I really do!), I am glad my SLSF 1519 will be heading down the Frisco Lines to Texas to such a good, new owner and home. Perhaps you can give the old girl a bit more work to do than I did!

I'll pvt msg you with details and suggestions on how to transfer 1519.

And many thanks to my friend Don for the photos, the tune up, and most of all, his advice as the Frisco world's #1 steam locomotive brassmeister.

Given the Fed's decision "print" dollars, precious metals, i.e., brass, are a good investment.

Let's see - brats with PB on rye, with Bud Light, Dewers and Glenfiddich to wash 'em down, all surrounded by Frisco talk. Cool!

I'd never thought of brats and PB, but I'm intrigued.

I smell a cookout idea for next year's convention.
