I have another pile of surplus kits that I plan to post on eBay or HOYardsale next week. As always, I want to offer them first to frisco.org members.

These are neat items, most are out of stock, and I anticipate they will be in demand. As such, I want to sell them at the original list price for each, which is what I paid, plus actual s/h cost via Priority Mail. The original purchase price is marked on each.

Alll are in their original box or package, all are new, mint, un-messed with. All are HO-scale kits, and contain their full instruction sheets.

    The items are as follows:

Westerfield, Kit #3860, Frisco SLSF USRA double sheathed boxcar, modernized (one piece body). Price: $33, plus s/h

Westerfield, Kit #11251, Frisco SLSF single sheathed boxcar, modernized (one piece body). Price: $33, plus s/h
(yes, this is the "saw-tooth" boxcar)

Sunshine Models, Kit #42.3, B&O M-53 Wagontop boxcar, post-war lightweight door. Price: $32, plus s/h

InterMountain, Kit #41699, undecorated (gray), USRA composite side drop bottom gondola. Price: $13.95, plus s/h

Roundhouse, Kit #3720, undecorated (black) Overton shorty combine. Price: $9.98, plus s/h

Micro Engineering, Kit #75-520, undecorated, Thru Girder Deck Bridge, 50ft length, single track. Price: $9.98, plus s/h

American Limited, Kit #5001, undecorated Wigwag Grade Crossing Signals (2), with decals. Price; $6.95, plus s/h

Items can certainly be combined to save on s/h (likely means the second item will not have any added s/h cost).

Payment via personal check or USPS money order, please. If you must use PayPal, fine, but I'd like to split the sales commission with you.

Please let me know ASAP if you are interested via email to meteor910@mindspring.com, or via frisco.org private message to meteor910.

    Thanks.

Folks - Back from a busy day at the James S McDonnell USO at Lambert St Louis airport. Boy, did we have a crowd of troops on the move today - mostly Army, Marines and Air Force, with a few Navy and Coast Guard as well. Also picked up over $1000 in donations to our USO - the biggest USO in the USA. I'm beat!

I've had a number of responses to my "odds & ends" notice, both from frisco.org and from elsewhere. Let me sort it all out tomorrow with a clear mind and I'll get back to you then. Thanks.

I hope you were extra nice to those Marines:D I am sure that some of them have relatives that worked on the Frisco (content):D.
Thanks for taking care of them Ken, that's a good thing. I remember that about my return(s) from overseas, you USO folks were about the only friendly faces.
But I wish I had been on the plane with Sherrel Weems as the pilot, now that would have been a treat. Anyway, back to the thread. I would try a car or two but I think they are a little out my preferred era. Got more period stuff than my 2 steam engines can pull now.

Tom, thanks very much for the honorable mention. Ferrying troops to and fro the Gulf was the highlight of my career.
On the way back one trip, I bought 40 cases of beer delivered to the aircraft in Dublin (signed Carl Ican's name to the purchase) because the Marine commander would not let the his troops leave their weapons during a refuel stop in order to go into the terminal during the ground time. I did not hear one single complaint from the passengers the remainder of the flight. Semper-Fi!

Ken, thank you so much for your unselfish service at the USO. My newest son in law of 3 months is with the Marines in Afgan and has just been reassigned to convoy duty - I am uneasy to say the least.

Moderator, this entire post is non-related Frisco material - I'm sorry - Please don't hit me again. :)

from klrwhizkid: Sherrel, being an Army parent whose son is serving, this is one post that is absolved.

Thanks Sherrel. I really enjoy the interactions with our service people.

We have over 800 volunteers an the St Louis Lambert USO, staffing two USO facilities, in Terminal 1 and Terminal 2. The big one (Terminal 1) runs 24/7/365. We have a 14-bed dormitory there and it was full of GI's catching some Z's yesterday!

I talked about the Frisco and modeling it in HO with one of my team members yesterday. I was telling him about the old days when the troops would ride the Frisco down to Newburg and be bused over to Ft Wood. We had a whole bunch of Army and Marines returning to Ft Wood yesterday. $35 by Greyhound, $60 by express van, $100-150 or so by cab. The Frisco had a better way!

    See, I'm on-topic!
