    ADDENDUM:

A quick perusal of the b&y GP7's indicates two major styles w/possible variants:

    1. The "original" extended block lettering.
1a. Later may have possibly had thicker letters, but still extended. (Sort of like "bold" lettering.)

    2. Taller and less "extended" block lettering with a more "bold" look as standard.

It appears version 2 began to show up after the original high hood U25's, and possibly first used on the GP35's. It then began to spread to the GP7's during the repaints, but not systematically.

So, there were at least two (and a possible variant) styles of block lettering used on the hood units.

The block "FRISCO" on the orange hood units was an entirely different animal.

Haven't studied the b&y EMD/Alco F's to see any differences as yet, but I think there were variations there, too.

    All fer now.

    Andre

EDIT: Thanks Tom for your input.

    Tom:

I hope to set it up so my last day of servile work is April 27. This will be followed by 4 weeks of paid vacation, then my first RR retirement check in July.

OH MAN I envy you brother. I just hope I can hang in there 6 more years. All the inward, outward facing cameras and just dwindling management from the ranks, well it's getting sooo much worse IMHO. I can't imagine this job in 3 years let alone 6.

Thanks Ken and Andre. Going back to the poll results, we will drop F units A and B from the list. Next would be GP35, followed by RS-1 and last on the list is
44 Ton. Should any of these be dropped because of existing decals, like the F units?

    Joe

Note: This post is number 1000 for me.

Two different sizes of the FRISCO name used on the sides of yard and road b/y diesels are on the MicroScale 87-85 set. I've been using the bigger one for switchers, the smaller for road units.

Hello Everyone, Been a while since I have been on the website but was checking out Mask Island Decals site just to see if by chance any new Frisco diesel decals had been done and listed and they have a set for the B/Y scheme. 2 variations for the Frisco GP7`s regarding the chevrons and lettering for the QA&P GP7. This should be good news for a lot of us. Just wanted to inform everyone out there in the Frisco family.
