Where are you guys ordering your SLSF U30Bs from? Wholesale trains does not list them yet and I like them because they typically discount about 35-40%.

    Thanks.

Wow, where was I when this announcement came out?????:confused::confused:

I looked at the models on the Atlas site, and I like what I see- lots nicer than my "blue-box" Athearn models I painted o so long ago. Now to convince the "Financial Department"................;)

Hmmmmm discount? Just signed up for the Wholesale Trains Buyers Club and asked them to change my pricing. Let's see what happens. Thanks for the heads up.

I shop from hem all the time, and I have found most items are not eligible for a discount. This is the first time I have seen Atlas items have the discount - I know Intermountain stuff usually has one.

-Rick, as long as you are logged into your account and have the membership, then the discount should automatically apply.

I know there has been a lot of discussion on the delays of the GP15-1, but I just checked on the Atlas U30B's at wholesaletrains.com and they are saying July 5th. First delay I've heard of on these. Hopefully they don't end up like the GP15-1.

    Ethan and All:

I just checked the Atlas delivery schedule on these and they have gone to TBD status. Ethan, you need to start another delay count please!

Any updates on the U30Bs? The Atlas site show a BIG, FAT BLANK in the delivery column. There is too much traffic on the Northern Division and we need the power !

Sure has been quiet on the Atlas U30Bs. I have been a little concerned with Atlas over the last year or so. They seem to be introducing fewer new products and their product mix is leaning more toward the Trainman product line. I guess I shouldn't complain since this helps me pay things like utilities and peanut butter.

The Atlas Golden Spike Club car for 2011, a Frisco beige and brown DS box car (HO and N), is also a no-show so far. It was supposed to be sent out to members mid-year. I'm going to call them tomorrow and ask for an update. Will advise.

I was looking at the Atlas A-Z Shipping site and found that all the Master Series locomotives (GP40-2, MP15, SD35 and U30B) announced since June 2010 have not arrived and are either expected to ship September 2011 (GP40), October (MP15 and SD35) or TBD (our beloved U30B). It is interesting that so few Master Series locomotives are being offered and that they are all being delayed for some reason. Hopefully, the delays will be worth the wait once these models arrive.

I highly doubt our U30B's were on that ship, it was off the coast of New Zealand. If it was then they need to find a map cause I don't think a route from China to America should include New Zealand.

Below is a memo from Atlas regarding the delays of the Master Series locomotives.

    ******************************************************************************************************************

Delays in development of the new QSI Titan board have delayed our shipment of sound-equipped GP40-2, Dash 8-40B/BW, SD/SDP35 and MP15DC locomotives.

If it is any consolation, all of the above units will include the new Titan decoder technology.

Also the C420 has been heavily delayed and will not be shipping until the first quarter of 2012. The sound-equipped version will also include new QSI Titan technology.

Wonder why the U30B's were not in the memo.

Sounds like good reasoning though. I don't have any sound yet, and I ordered one with sound so it looks like I'll be getting better quallity.

I've always heard that Tsunami is the best out there. Any one know if there is a difference between Tsunami and QSI?

As of now, Soundtraxx Tsunami is the standard. The QSI Titan is yet to be released to be compared.
