I am interested in purchasing a reasonably priced, used, analog/DC HO locomotive in any BNSF paint scheme (with the exceptions of those BN and SF schemes with simple stencils or just some sort of re-lettering). My "modern-era AT&N" freelanced layout includes interchanging with BNSF. The only BN-SF I can run for now are trains pulled by a BN / SF double header. This seems to me to be a great opportunity for anyone transitioning from DC to DCC to unload a BNSF DC loco and raise a few funds for some DCC equipment. If you are interested is selling a DC BNSF loco, it would probably be best if you would private message me in order to respect the original intent of this |-| site. Include a photo if possible. No BNSF, but I gots a BB SD9 and GP30 and an Atlas FP7 in BN. The trouble is that I can't get at them for another 6 months or so. Sorry.
Thank you but I already have 2 BN locos and 3 SF locos. I'm looking for "anything BNSF, DC, that runs" ...meaning... a true BNSF paint scheme, not BN or SF schemes with BNSF stencils. (I already have plans to stencil [decal] AT&N on what I have.) Due to the timing of the merger and the emergence of DCC, I would think that most BNSF locos on the market would be produced in DCC... unfortunate for those of us who still run DC.
Since you did not specify the type of locomotive you were looking for, I am assuming a generation 2 or 3 diesel will be in order. eBay has an ATHEARN GENESIS GP-40 in BNSF Pumpkin for $72.95 buy it now.
