Joe, I have a 2" sheet of foam on top of ply wood. With as much as I have packed in on this layout I don't really have room to do much in the way of scenery. However, if I can get room to expand the layout, I can make modules that would focus more on scenery, which is something I would really like to do in the future. Ethan

Ethan, it doesn't take up much room to add some scenic interest and 2" of foam offers great possibilities.
Ethan, two inches of foam is great! You have done a lot of planning on how you want the tracks to run now do the same for water flow. This will improve your layout by leaps and bounds. Two inches of foam equals almost 15 feet in HO! This will allow you to do almost anything even a medium sized stream. Joe
