I bought a new camera a couple of weeks ago and am learning the ropes of using it down at Newburg. Some of these aren't the best, but I'm getting it figured out. It also takes 1080P video, hence the "wide" mode on the photos. Need to get some blue paint for the background walls. As you can see in some of them, the ballast crew hasn't been around for a while.
Nice layout! Nice camera too. You should consider doing youtube videos with it. If you need help with that contact me.
Very nice. Those are some great scene's and you're a good modeler. The pictures are stunning. They really capture the shot. Good focus and light qualities.
Camera is a Canon Powershot SX1 IS. I bought it as a refurbished unit from Canon. It's out of production since several months ago. Reason I bought it is that the one Canon replaced it with only takes 720P video. This shoots 1080P with stereo and does a good job of it. I posted a video from a couple weeks ago down near Steelville,MO on the ATT&NW No. 801 on Youtube. I shot a video on the layout and it was going great but the darned engine hit a dead spot on a turnout and just stopped. Bummer. Have to work on that some more.
Well now since you've let the cat out of the bag, we expect pictures at least once a week on your layout and the progress. In fact, you just gave me an idea! Gotta go and contact the whizkid!
Nice photos & layout! I believe this is the ATT&NW video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iLskZi0m1-M I like the video... it really does justice to the #801. - James
Thank you, that's the one. I wish I hadn't kicked the tripod while I was panning. I think the camera does a nice job.
Great shots of your Newberg setting, Don. Very nice closeup detail from your new camera. Thanks for posting, keep up the good work - but, don't let your feet get in the way - LOL
May I ask you to give a little bit of information on the auxiliary water tender in your shots? Brass or did you custom make it? If you made it, can you explain a little about it? Thank you! Manny I love your attention to detail. (Except for the motorized boxcar )
Manny, I scratchbuilt it out of brass using some old photos and a diagram out of a book. I think there's a picture of it in the archives here on the site. I couldn't find the pictures on the site, so here is my "roster" shot of it.
Wow! Totally amazing! You certainly are one heck-of-a-modeler. Great job! I hope to have your skills one day. Keep up the great work, and MORE PICS!
re Frisco auxiliary water tenders: I don't recall if these have been posted before or not. If not, here they are (as of 3/47). Ken
