Track Work at MP C398.0

    Hoxie and the Frisco-MP crossing were listed in the ETT's as being at MP 398.0. On the pole in the photo background the 398 marker can be seen to confirm that fact.

    A group of Frisco trackmen are removing fouled ballast and replacing it with clean stuff. When the new ballast is in place, they will hand tamp each tie. It appears that a shovel brigade is being used as each man carries a shovelful of ballast to the growing pile by the milepost.

    Shot was taken during the winter of '62. The depot shadow is in the foreground. The Frisco tracks run from upper left to lower right, and RR north is to the upper left

    That's interesting Karl, I didn't know Frisco & MoPac both had a double track diamonds. They were long gone by the late 70's when I visited the site, MoPac still had 2 tracks but Frisco only had one across the interlocker. Roger
