Very impressive as always. I have seen just one photo of the Dickey plant and it looked a bit different - i.e. exhaust stacks (3 of them) came out of the building and not out of the ground. But I doubt anyone really care one way or the other. What ya got works for me.
I think there are couple of pics on the forum but I found this one. The shorter, smaller structures are kilns. I believe the factory had its' own coal fired power plant to produce power to fire the kilns.
Thanks for all the positive feedback guys. Recreating the Highline has been a fabulous experience and it wouldn't be possible without this forum and everyone's help.
Looks like the Frisco damaged some product again as the freight clerk at the MFA Supply in Lowery City sorts through some pallets. He's got to get this freight claim paperwork done before he can go home.
Those bags look to be in pretty good shape to me. I imagine they will fetch a decent resale price even though the pallet was separated. Your reskin? Kuid? George
Yep. They should be available on the DLS in a couple of days. <kuid:135229:100370> <kuid:135229:100369>
For my Frisco Friends Familar with the Pac Northwest I wasn't sure where to post this so I picked my own thread. I thought my Frisco friends would be the best place to start. I'm planning an Amtrak round trip from Seattle to Portland for Feb. Looks like there are two options the Coast Starlight and Amtrak Cascades. I've never made this trip before. What is the difference between the two? Specifically services, amenities, and consist. I've searched the web but haven't found a lot of information available. Any links or info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
I'm jealous. The last train trip I took was from St. Louis to the gate at Navy boot camp at Great Lakes, IL. 1981.
Dricketts mentioned: "..planning an Amtrak round trip..." then wondered which of two options to use. Gee, in absence of "The Meteor" or Kansas City Florida Special operating in that area, I would use "Coast Starlight" one way and "Cascades" the other if your pocketbook and available time permit! Then start another thread and tell us about it! George
RS-1 103 looks nice and new. Where did you find that one? I cannot tell if it is lettered for AT&N or not.
Nice job. Makes me want to do a little diorama using my N scale RS-2 Frisco loco. Not an RS-1 but it still inspires me. Keep up the cool pics.
I like all the images but that rusty chain link fence really makes for a great picture. Thanks for sharing those.
Thanks Jim. I took the pics for the textures from an old chain link fence in Grandview not far from the High Line. A friend of mine from Australia actually made the chain link fence model. Thanks Charlie. I also love the work you're doing with the forum site. Looks great! P.S. Posting pics is a little easier now that I can see embedded photos in threads.
