Hello all, Grew up in Sullivan MO down the street from the mainline from STL to SPRGFLD and been a fan of Frisco ever since. Am thinking about someday buidling a layout in HO as if the Frisco was still operating in to the 1990's with a few modern locomotives painted in Frisco colors. Thanks! |-|
Shane - Welcome to frisco.org! You will enjoy this group. When I was a kid (a few hundred years ago!), we had some good family friends who lived in Sullivan that we used to visit often. They ran the Davis Paint Store (long gone) on the main street across from the tracks as I recall. They lived in the same neighborhood in Sullivan as "Sunny" Jim Bottomley - a former great StL Cardinals player. I enjoyed watching the Frisco come through Sullivan many times on those visits - this probably set the seed for my later deep interest in the SLSF when I was at MSM in Rolla. Ken
