Does anyone know which through freight trains specifically set out cars at Ft. Scott in the 1970s?

I am pretty sure that Ft. Scott originated the local north to Lenexa/KC and south to Springfield so they had to get their traffic somehow.

Also, I preparing to switch out equipment and run 1948-1950 session so information on any trains setting out cars including passenger, baggage, etc. at Ft. Scott would be helpful as well.

    Thanks for your help.

I would think that there would be cars to and from Kansas City that would be set out and picked up at Columbus on the Afton Subdivision, for destinations on the Wichita Subdivision.

Number 139's set out at Ft. Scott was at times mostly cars of particle board for O'Sullivan.

They also carried a set out for Cherokee, Columbus and Baxter Springs.
