    Mike, Chris -

I have a suggestion for a new forum - Locomotive Diagrams

I'd put this in the prototype (not modeling) category. In this new folder, put sub-folders in for Frisco Steam and Frisco Diesel locomotives. Right away, in Frisco Diesels, you can copy over the vest pocket diagram book Keith recently posted, plus my recent posted diagrams of the early (pre-vest pocket) diagrams of the SLSF E7, E7m, and E8 passenger diesels.

I have the pre-vest pocket diagrams for the Frisco F3's and FA/FB's ready to post, but I suggest we need a central repository for diagrams before I do that.

I have several other pre-vest pocket diagrams (they have a lot more info) available to post for the early SLSF diesels.

Perhaps later, this can be expanded to include freight and passenger car diagrams in some way.

    Just a suggestion!

    Ken

Ken, all the passenger car diagrams are already posted here.

    Howdy,

Although not specifically stated, the intention was for diagrams to go in the General area of each Real Frisco area, e.g., Diesels. I can add a subforum to the General area titled Diagrams. Will that work for you?

    Best,
    mike

Mike - A sub-forum in the general categories for steam and diesel locomotives sounds like a good idea to me. Perhaps also for passenger and freight cars later as well.

I think this would be a great, and very useful, addition to frisco.org. Many of us have diagrams that can be posted. The goal would be to have a near-complete collection, like the PRR society and several others have available.

I know there are already several Frisco loco and car diagrams posted within frisco.org (I've received a few comments to that effect over the past day), but it is not always obvious where they are located. That's why I suggested a specific forum for diagrams for locos, etc. That will make it obvious where they are for easy, quick access, and is what many of the other rr historical groups are doing - we should do the same for the good old SLSF.

I have hundreds of SLSF loco diagrams here, and now that I have a first-class scanner, I'm ready to post the more important ones. After you set up the diagram sub-forums, tell me how to post a diagram directly to them. Do I just enter a post to the sub-forum with the diagram attached, or is there a way to post the diagram alone without a text posting? Is there a way to note who posted the diagram? I'm not thinking of credit for just the ones I post, , but for all who post them.

Many of my SLSF diesel diagrams are from the diagram books pre-vest pocket diagrams, i.e., the larger size (like the E-unit diagrams I recently posted). These contain much more info than do the smaller vest pocket diagrams. For example, I have all of the SLSF full size 1st generation diesel diagrams - several revisions of each - repowerings, etc.

Let me know what you want to do - anything you decide is fine with me. I'll be out of hand over the next three-four days because of my upcoming eye surgery. Be back after all that is behind me!

    Ken

Okay, diagram forums are available for your use. I'll need to start moving existing diagrams into the new forums. This can be a tricky exercise if they are part of another thread...but we can do it. Best, mike
