    Hello,

I wanted to add this here.

I model The ES&NA RR in HO Scale. I have my layout in my bedroom (only half of it). I have a shelf running around my room (a 10 x 10 room size), on an one (1) foot wide shelf, and I have table tops below my shelf layout for my town.

I have no pictures at this time, but I will add them later.

If you want to know more about my layout, please let me know and I will tell you.

    Hello,

My layout, The ES&NA RR, is set up with a yard, where I store my trains, on one end and continue around the shelf with a single line track until it get to "Wye" at the other end, which I used to turn my engines around, and its continue around to where it end (at a wall). I don't have any of the same locomotives as what is now on The ES&NA RR, I several differment Diesel Locomotives and only three Steam Locomotive, which I need to rework, I also have several RR Cars, boxcars, passenger coaches, flatcars, tankers, and etc.., all from differment RR's.

My layout is not set up the same as The ES&NA RR. Its is set up a little differment, dues to I only have a one (1) wide shelf board round around a 10 x 10 room size. I will be posting pictures of my layout soon. My bedroom size is 10 feet wide x 22 feet long, I am only using half of that, a 10 x 10. The table tops that I town sitting on is my made up town of differment buildings and houses. The table tops I am using is of course wider than one foot, its is about 3 foot wide and set up below my layout shelf board and only wrap around only half of my 10 x 10 room, I will show you in my pictures I will be posting.

I will be posting pictures of my layout soon.

    Hello Brian:

As for being a beginner: We all have to start somewhere. The main thing is: Are you are having fun and enjoying it?

In picture 000_0122.jpg there appears two photos on your wall. One is of a structure, the other of a steam locomotive w/crew.

Is the structure the stone "Ice House" in Eureka Springs?

Also, is the steam locomotive picture also a North Arkansas picture?

If so, do you have digital versions of them? I would be very interested in viewing them.

    Thanks.

    Andre,

Yes, the picture of the structure on my wall is a old picture of The "Stone" Ice House in Eureka Springs. This picture is also on my website, along with what remains of the Ice House today.

The other picture of the one with steam Locomotive w/crew is not on The North Arkansas Line, is is from The Central Pacific RR in 1883. Nothings to do with The North Arkansas Line.

Also you ask me if I am having fun and enjoying it, well I enjoy a little of it. I have not been working on it very much since High School, but I am now starting to get back to work on it again. But one things I wish I have a bigger space, so I can expand my layout. My future plan for my layout, if I has a bigger space, is to build The North Arkansas Line. That is my future plan.

Well I hope this answer your questions you ask.

    Jim,

If you have spare tender trucks for my 4-4-0, Can I have some?? If you can send them to me, you can get my address from my website, Saving The ES&NA RR, link is below in my signature.
That is the only thing that is wrong with my 4-4-0. When I first got it, it was all there and working, I was running it on my layout, but I not sure what happen the tender truck broke. So I parked it on the repair track to get repair. I did try repairing the tender truck myself but it broke again so I give up.

I know that all three Steam Locomotives all run the last time I check them. All I need is to repair them all and they will run again. I like running my Steam Locomotives on my layout, I don't like running my Diesel Locomotives because that is not what I want, I want to run my Steam Locomotives, but of course they all need repair.

Can you or anyone here know how to repair Steam Locomotives??

Well, How about it can I have some of your spare tender trucks for my 4-4-0?? I forgot to tell you mine are the type with an screw hold the trucks to the tender itself. I think your is done the same way, I hope??

I hope you enjoy my pictures of my layout.

In the early 80's, you could buy scale models of the "Christ of the Ozarks" statue at The Great Passion Play gift shop in Eureka Springs. I didn't see any the other day when I was up there but I wasn't looking for one either. My parents bought my grandmother one in the early 80's. Since the RR your modeling is practically under the statue there in Eureka Springs, I think it would be a nice touch of modeling the town/scenery if you could get your hands on one. (I asked my grandmother for hers but after she found out I was thinking of sending it to you she said she wanted to keep it in the family.)

    Hello,

I just wanted to keep you all up to dates on what I doing to my HO Layout.

I was cleaning out my closet, where I keep my empty trains boxes, and Guess what I found?? I found an whole other train set, tracks, tranformer, cars, and an steam locomotive. This train set is an On30 Scale, smaller than a O Scale trains set, and its run on HO Scale tracks. I got this set a couple of years ago, and when I got its I has its set up on my HO Layout, but I notice its was a little to big, I has to move my building and other stuff farther away from the tracks because of the cars and locomotive need more room to run. So I put its back in its boxes and put its away in my closet. Let me ask you all an question: Have many of you ever seen an On30 Scale Trains Set that run on HO Scale??

Here are pictures of my On30 Scale Trains Set,

    Shot 1 & 2: is the 2-6-0 Steam Locomotive & Tender.
Shot 3, 4, 5, 6, & 7: is the cars and caboose, there are 4 cars that came with this set.
Shot 8: is an over all view of the On30 Scale Train Set.

Both locomotive, tender and cars all work, and the good things about the cars they will light up when the power is on. I will try to post pictures of the cars with the light on.

    Brian,

Most modelers are familar with On30. It's an O scale (1/48) train that runs on HO scale (1/87) track, and it's purpose is to represent a narrow gauge operation, i.e., three foot spacing between the rails as opposed to the standard four feet, eight and a half inches. On30 is a little disproportioned, but I think it still looks pretty good. Bachmann seems to have done a lot to make it popular with their Shay locomotives.

I noticed that our layouts have a few structures in-common. I have the same Atlas three stall roundhouse, Life-Like Al's General Store, and IHC (AHM) Arlee Station. The General Store is a excellent representation of the old Wesco Mercantile/Post Office where I grew up at and I use the Arlee Station for the depot in Steelville, which, with the exception of the loading dock, is spot-on. I think I paid $12.00 for the IHC kit a couple of years ago at the little hobby store in Rosebud. Can't beat that! I have a good friend who is a wizard with customizing and weathering structures, and he was able to help give my buildings a little more personality than they had right out of the box.

    Thanks for sharing your photos.

    Hello,

I just want to keep you all up to dates on what I am doing to my HO Layout.

First, I wanted to show you my "Wye", including an closer views of my old buildings, kit builts, I built them in late 1900's. Shots 1, 2, & 3.

Second, I wanted to tell you all that I was working on my Bachman 0-6-0 Steam Locomotive. I am trying to clean the drivers to make its run better. Shot 4.

Third, I wanted to show you all my backdrop for my tabletops layout. If you notice it is all hand drawing, Yes I did its. Shot 5.

Fourth, I do hope I get an chance to begin working on my Bachman 4-4-0, Jim James is sending me extra parts from his Bachman 4-4-0. Shot 6.

Fifth, I also do hope I begin restoring/working my Bachman 2-8-0. If you notice I am missing the rods for the drivers. Shot 7.

    Enjoy.
