Guess I'd better keep a bottle of Makers Mark downstairs. Never developed a taste for Scotch.

Try The Glenmorangie, best selling single malt in Scotland. Mmmmmm! No shakes!

This has been a MOST INFORMATIVE thread. I am NOT happy to see that you all are experiencing many of my same problems.
I have not resorted to the bottle, however after reading this - I gueww that I may try it.
I am reminded of an Uncle of mine who told the story of a friend of his who took a few drinks to steady his nerves. Sometimes, he said, his friend would get so steady that he could not move!

The tremors in your hand is caused by a voice in your head telling you don't screw this up!
A shot or two takes care of the voice in your head, so you can proceed with a steady hand!

The single malt cost is about the same as the model.

Ever try Arran? One of the smoothest there is. It's a new single malt, from the Isle of Arran.

It's as smooth as The Meteor at 75mph.

No, but I like the only single malt from the Isle of Skye:
