    Hey Y'all,

I'm trying to determine which type of injectors the Frisco used. According to the drawings (0-6-0) 3676-3685 Class, they say Hancock. All I can find are Nathan's done in HO scale. Are they lifting or non-lifting?

Can anyone clear this up for me and direct me to the proper injectors?

    Thanks!

Manny, in the picture of #3679 on page 219 in "Frisco Power", the engine definitely has a lifting injector. I believe that Nathan made both lifting and non-lifting injectors. If the injector has a handle attached directly to the body, it will be a lifting injector. Non-lifting injectors were mounted low, usually beneath the cab, and therefore had all valves plumbed or controlled from the cab. Lifting injectors were mounted high, either in the cab or directly in front of it. Lifting injectors that were located in the cab would typically have the steam, water and nozzle adjustment controls as part of the injector itself. Lifting injectors tended to have a horizontal type layout, non-lifting tended to have a more vertical layout... although that is not a hard and fast rule. For an example of a lifting Nathan injector, look at: http://www.superscale.biz/PDFs/SCat.pdf

If the general layout of the available injector is the same, I would use what is available... but that's just me!

Thank you guys. I appreciate the education and input. I may not be able to get 100% Frisco, but I'm trying to be as close as possible. I'm afraid that the 3' rule may be implemented. I'll look at Cal Scale and Cary to see what they have.
