There is a Frisco Caboose in Rogersville Mo - It is a WW 1 & 2 memorial as well. They have done a great paint job, and the interior is nice as well. Do not know the actual Frisco # , but it is marked slsf200.
Not able to agree that it is a great paint job but I will certainly say that it is very shiney and clean. If the painters only would have had a Frisco paint diagram. . . . . This is not SLSF 200, however, it could very well be one of the CBQ or NP cabooses discussed on another thread. I checked it against the 1400s and 1700s but the cupola windows are totally different. Ship IT on the Frisco! Rick
Better paint than the "just slap a Coonskin on it." ones I have seen on my trips with band through Missouri. Even if it isn't a Frisco cab it is nice to see some Frisco colors along the lines. Ship it on the Frisco!!! Murphy Millican
Re: Non Frisco Caboose, Rogersville, MO "I have some pictures of this as well. I live only 18 miles east of Rogersville." Hi, I was there about 3 weeks ago and could find no ID on the car. Of course, I could not get inside to see if there were any hints there. I think it's a former BN car, not one of the BN family roads. Whatever group painted it has the key to the doors and may have pre repainting photos. Being so close, perhaps you could make a few inquiries in Rogersville? Thanks, Roger, Cortez, CO
Fake Frisco caboose, Rogersville, MO "The cupola side windows strongly suggest it is not a Frisco cab. Ken" Fake SLSF 200, Park, 102 E. Front St., Rogersville, MO, was BN #? caboose. Roger
Re: Fake Frisco caboose, Rogersville, MO Kind of like alleged Frisco cab "1501" in Rolla, MO. It's really a NP cab - says so on its trucks. Ken
Re: Fake Frisco caboose, Rolla, MO "Like alleged Frisco cab "1501" in Rolla, MO. It's really a NP cab - says so on its trucks." Ken Fake SLSF 1501, Parking Lot, 100 E. 9th St., Rolla, MO, ex-GN X-109/BN 10149. http://www.greatnorthernempire.net/index2.htm?GNECabooses.htm Roger
The paint job on 1501 in Rolla is a little better than the 200 in Rogersville but not much. It would be great if those in charge of repainting would consult the contributors to this website so they could get the color, lettering, coonskin|-|, etc. right on these non-Frisco cabooses.
