I've been trying to upload some mp3 files of 1950s Newburg arrivals and departures, but get the message that the files are invalid. Anybody??? Maybe I could ZIP them?
I suspect the host server's software has a hard time knowing what to do with mp3 files. Try zipping one and attaching it to the post? Andre
Don, I'm with Andre...it looks as if mp3 may not be a recognizeable file type (Mike, Charlie or other more technically-spirited types might be able to confirm) but the zip file does look recognized. I will very eagerly anticipate these files, and will keep my ears open for them. Best Regards,
OUTSTANDING! Sounds much different from the Frisco I remember hearing in the 1970s from the hill just east of the depot at Chaffee. Thanks for sharing, Don...
Sounded real nice, but I never could get the video to work. My screen just had squiggely lines all over it. I tried to adjust the vertical and horizontal, but did not help.
I don't think there is video. MP3 is just sound. Like the songs I just put on my iPod. Be cool to transfer some of the sounds into a scale sound decoder for a layout. Ship it on the Frisco!!! Murphy Millican
Thank you sooo very much, Don. I went back to Webster station, about 7 or 8 in the evening in 1962. The last time I saw my grandpa McGilvry alive was a weekend trip he made up from Springfield. I remember listening to the rails, watching that crazy MARS light start over the rise in Kirkwood, the watching that big old red diesel pull up, stop, { blocking Big Bend! ], and grandpa getting off! My thanks again!! Dan
