    Weems was evidently a neat train watching hot spot. Back in the 60's, there was a great photo spread of Weems in "Trains" magazine. I think two RR's used the tracks and a third passed over the bridge. The same photographer was featured in the book "Birmingham Rails." Sorry don't recall his name...

    Thanks, Tom, I have that issue. My memory is slipping, but if I remember correctly, it was Seaboard Air Line, Central of Georgia, and Southern.
    Nice article with great pictures. :)

    My ancestors came from Mississippi, Alabama and eastward. Could have been some of them.
    They probably camped there on the way and decided to name it. :D
