Weems was evidently a neat train watching hot spot. Back in the 60's, there was a great photo spread of Weems in "Trains" magazine. I think two RR's used the tracks and a third passed over the bridge. The same photographer was featured in the book "Birmingham Rails." Sorry don't recall his name... Tom
Thanks, Tom, I have that issue. My memory is slipping, but if I remember correctly, it was Seaboard Air Line, Central of Georgia, and Southern. Nice article with great pictures. My ancestors came from Mississippi, Alabama and eastward. Could have been some of them. They probably camped there on the way and decided to name it.
