Mark at PSC tells me that reservations have hit a plateau in late August and at this time he's about 20-30 short of going ahead with the build. Drawings and everything are finished, but he doesn't want to go forward that short of reservations. For us Frisco modelers, if the 1500s are cancelled, any possibility of 4100s in the future will go with them. I'm still taking reservations. Be a shame if this bombs.
He has planned to do a run of 85 total and is only in the 50s. Drawings are done, everything ready to go, but he needs more reservations. I have a lot of work in this project too and am disappointed. We had planned to do a 4100 project if this one was a success.
What actually makes this type of model SO expensive? I guess I just don't understand the economics of it all?? They're beautiful but... Tom G.
That's way too expensive for my blood!!! My layout budget is one third of the price of the locomotive. I know the locomotive is HO and I model N scale. I have a small timesaver switching layout for my HO collection and I could join the group in Claremore, OK. so I can run a HO locomotive there. I hope you can pull the project together soon Don. Joe
I did a reservation for one already maybe I can see if I can get another one in the near future, if I get the money. I did mine at brasstrains.com though instead of through here.
Yes, if you can please reserve one. This could be a spectacular model. Wish they weren't so expensive, but that's today's market.
Is there ANY possibility that one of these exquisite manufacturers would offer one of these handmade jewels in N scale? Tom G.
I have one question regarding the road numbers vs the actual Psc number. For the #1508/1509 which is PSC 18680-1 how do I know which one I'd get? If I were to reserve a second one I would want both numbers or two of the PSC number, as the drawing up for both were shown, not a duplicate of either number.
OK folks, here's the latest! Mark at Precision Scale has sold the casting business and will be making an announcement next week. He's also preparing to retire and it looks like Division Point Models will be taking over the Frisco project as well as the other engine projects PSC had on the way. Mark tells me they reservations go with the project, so anyone who has reserved any will be OK> As soon as I know more, you will know more. This is good news for me (not so much for my wife). I agree with the decision to limit the number of versions as I think that would make it more economically feasible for the manufacturer by having fewer variables to manufacture. I am looking forward to this project being completed. Terry
