Has anyone received their decal order since Tom said he stated filling past orders?

I may have to change which RR I wish to model since no one makes the decals I need for my N scale Frisco.

From this point forward, I would recommend that no one attempt to order from Odd Balls based on information I received from a close third party. Since it did not come from Tom Stolte direct, I will not comment further, nor answer questions about the subject beyond "caveat emptor"; buyer beware.

I have already ordered decals from Oddball (4 months ago) and have not yet received them.
I know others here have the same problem and wanted to know if any of them received theirs yet.
But if any N Scalers have extras I'm willing to talk.

Read you loud and clear, Mike. I have neither information nor suggestions regarding Oddball Decals. The Swap Meet forum's a good alternative to switching scales and/or roads. :)

The hobby shop that I frequent still has a fair selection of Oddball decals in stock. Send me a PM with the decal number and I will look for it.

I sent an order in November and had not received it after two months, not surprising except that I had contacted Tom ahead of time and he said "go ahead and send it." When I followed up a week or so ago, I learned from him that the printer which had been repaired after lo, these many months, had again broken down. Therefore do not expect any Oddball orders to be filled any time soon.

Tom sure did pick the right name for his business, he surely is an ODDBALL. I dealt with him ONCE and had to wait about a month for the order to come through. I have not tried to order since then due to all the negative publicity.

This is all very sad as Tom has/had a very fine product.

I have been having a PM discussion with Keith Robinson about Tom Stolte. I would have to say, due to a certain situation, Tom is probably out of business for good. I have at Least one copy of every HO scale decal for the Frisco that he ever produced. I was the one that did the artwork on about half of them. They were all done in Corel Draw. Tom paid me for the artwork and I could get up to a dozen decals for free from Tom. The rest were produced by Tom, himself. Keith and I have been talking about who owns the copyright to the artwork for these decals. I would be willing to scan the decals so the artwork could be sent to someone else so the decals could again be produced, but I have no desire to get in trouble with lawyers over this! Would it be possible for frisco.org to buy the rights to these decals from Tom? I did not save the artwork from the Corel Draw software, I could reproduce them, but you are talking about month and months of work which I really do not want to do again. I'm open to any suggestions.

renapper wondered: "Would it be possible for frisco.org to buy the rights to these decals from Tom?"

This seems like a very fine solution to this knotty problem. It might just be mutually helpful. The Devil (and lawyers) will, of course, be in the details.

I know of another interest group forum that supported itself quite awhile with decal sales. However, it has now re-formatted its homepage with a PayPal button, so the decal sales business model was clearly not sustainable.

On the other hand, ownership of the artwork by frisco.org (with renapper's acquiescence) would facilitate production by anyone, even Mr. Stolte when his printer is back up and running.

It would be a shame to have to re-do all the art work, so I hope some kind of equitable solution can be reached.

I could possibly help with artwork for the steam decals. I'm too dumb to learn how to do them in vector instead of raster. Wish I could, makes a cleaner decal.

Is very sad it has come to point of offering him money for non delivery! He owes me US$50 paid on his last half price sale. What ever you do get a Devil's Advocate to to review it. If attempt anything get a clear mind from it he won't show up in future playing his games. There is my ten cents! Ricky:mad:

This is so sad. I knew Tom had issues, but never, never did I think that he would hang on to other people's money.

He needs to be careful about keeping the money. If he took payment knowing he was not going to be able to deliver, it could be construed as mail fraud. That's not a place you ever want to be.

In response to Richards question of buying the rights from Tom so that the site could reproduce the decals, he probably owes enough members money, (I for one) that he ought to trade us the rights for the money he owes many of us. I know I would certainly be willing to donate to the cause, at least I would feel like some good was coming out of it.

I would donate to the cause if the rights could be secured...

I have contacted Tom about selling this group his artwork for all of his Frisco decals. I will let the group know what he says.

Here is Tom's response about selling the Frisco Artwork to this group. "$100.00 each and I still want to keep the artwork to sell to other people."
