Is anyone in frisco.org interested in the Norfolk & Western RR? You should be - it was pretty neat and one of the last bastions of steam. I have an extra copy of the NWHS's excellent quarterly publication - The Arrow. This is the current issue, April-May-June 2018, volume 34, issue 2. The cost of each quarterly issue is $11.95 from the society, or being a member, which I have been for about ten years. The NWHS also features the Virginian RR. It's 8.5" x 11", gloss paper, some color, mostly black & white, 32 pages, mint condition. Following are the topics in this issue: - "Outwitting the U-Boats" ..... German submarines, not GE diesels. The story of putting coal and oil shipments on the rails instead of having ships sunk at sea off our coasts during WW-2 - "The Norfolk & Western in 1968" - "Freight Cars" - A study of the N&W HC-11 covered hopper - "Photo Feature" - Virginian RR facilities in Roanoke in late 1957 - "Archives" - Roanoke N&W general office building fire of 1896 - "N&W prototype you can model" - Passenger coach used as part of a commissary building - plus misc photos, NWHS items for sale (lots of good publications), etc. No ads. I'll mail it to you for $6.00. Please advise me at meteor910 if interested, Payment as usual by PayPal "friends & family" This is a good organization and a cheap way to see if you are interested in it. Thanks. Ken
