This was seen going through the cut about a mile past Greenbrier! Oh the horror. Couldn't help it. I liked the color matching.
Re: Monster Sighting(viewer discretion) I ought to ban you for posting this photo. You've caused me to have temporary blindness and violent nausea... Indeed, your color matching is good. ~mike
Re: Monster Sighting(viewer discretion) Have you no sense of decency, sir? At long last, have you left no sense of decency? Mike, I hope that you do not relapse.
Re: Monster Sighting(viewer discretion) A color scheme designed by a committee, and each committee member obviously got his/her way! Why they didn't stick with the classic ATSF schemes is beyond me. Too much BN influence, I guess - GN in particular. Ken
Re: Monster Sighting(viewer discretion) Ken, I agree with you. I thought the perfect scheme was the one using the BN Executive green/cream with the Santa Fe war paint pattern. We were told by upper management at a town hall meeting in Tulsa the reason they didn't paint all the engines that way was that the scheme was "too European"--whatever that means. I do agree, also, that there was way too much GN influence, it would seem. The employees called the orange/green scheme the "pumpkin" scheme. It certainly was not a compliment, and my apologies to real pumpkins. Terry
Re: Monster Sighting(viewer discretion) I'm not sure why BN & ATSF didn't just merge their paint schemes similar to what I have below. It's not pretty to look at but it's no worse than a pumkin. And it represents the two final companies before the merger. (Of course I would pull for at least a coon skin behind the letters and numbers.) - Brandon
