Hi Tom: I too, am looking forward to making some workbench progress "one of these days". Right now, my old computer is on the workbench awaiting mucho time spent transferring programs from it to the new machine on the computer desk beside it. I dread that part. (It's a frustrating time sink.) Models that one ends up painting/decaling/weathering themselves are always unique and don't look like thousands and thousands of RTR stuff on the layouts across the nation. Make no mistake, though, I am THRILLED to be buying so much nice RTR. Time saver big time. As for decals: Looks as if I'll have to have some custom made for the KCT and the Frisco multi stripe scheme. As we all know, Oddballs is dead. So, I'm hoping to have some S scale decals I have reproduced in HO scale. BTW troops, speaking of nice RTR, I snagged a couple items on Evil Bay that I felt were good bargains. Here's what I've picked up: * NIB Missouri Pacific "Original Scheme" FA1/FB1 set. * NIB in box Atlas/China MKT RS-3 in the "Original Scheme". Into both will go DCC w/sound.
Just purchased a BLI ATSF NW2 in Zebra stripes w/DCC and Sound. I may make one more "really want" engine purchase... then I need to hold off on engines and target purchasing enough switches to do Phase One. But engines are SO MUCH FUN!!!
