hello my name is arthur mccoy (mac). anyways im in korea now (not north) south korea. im orginally from van buren, AR so i grew up on the central division. i could run to the corner to see the frisco cross at 15th st and another crossing at alma blvd (which is a bad crossing that has a bad history with a lot of crossing accidents. When i was in jr high school one of my class mates lost his life at this crossing. he was in the back set of his brothers car and they got hit at this crossing and he was killed), anyway im in korea and live about two blocks from the 4 track seoul to busan main line. korea does have a high speed train that goes about 300 kph (184 mph). i have rode it a few times. too bad the us doesnt have some type of train that goes the length of the country like here in korea. ok thanks for letting me in the frisco historical soecity here. ok thanks

    Welcome Mac,
    enjoy the forum.
I had a classmate and another friend, killed on a motor scooter at a St Louis- Southwestern crossing after my parents moved to the big city of Waldo, AK. He did not see the train coming - the depot blocked where the locomotive was at the time. I was riding another scooter about 50-75 yards behind him. I have always remembered that sight. The locomotive knocked them about 100 feet thru the air - took the train almost a mile to stop.
