Hello Y'all, I cannot give you a full announcement as of yet, however, it will be coming soon. A decision to make Frisco decals has been made. Frisco steam decals will be coming shortly to include freight, passenger, Doric Stripes, Frisco Fast Freight, Meteor, Sunnyland, and Will Rodgers steam locomotives, along with tender data. A host of Frisco 34, 36, 40, 41, 45, 50 ft boxcars, 8 and 12 stake gondolas, 40 ft refrigerators, flat cars, and subsidiary roads will also begin to follow. First sets will hopefully be released starting 3rd Quarter of this year, possibly earlier. That is all I can say at this point. You can help me by showing your interest. Please post up your thoughts. Thank you. Manny
Manny, Sounds real good, how about some Frisco heavyweight passenger car decals? They have been in short supply lately. Brad
Right now, I am focused on freight cars. The Oddball discussion has prompted me to throw weight into the engine arena. I will consider doing 1885-1920 style heavyweight passenger cars. This will depend on how many good quality photos I can obtain to have the artwork made on the decals.
Opening roads to be covered include: SLSF SLSF & Gulf KC-FS&M KC-C&S KC-M&B Frisco CEI BE&SW Frisco Frisco Rock Island Fort Worth & Rio Grande
I do hope that large scale will be offered! 1/32 or 1/29 scale is what I would be interested in. Thanks, and good luck! Dan
I can assure you that the decals produced will be high quality. I am presently working with a well known manufacturer that produces some of the best decals ever made. A formal announcement will be made Mid-March. I will do the best I can for y'all.
For those who have the W&R Hi Walk Tank Cars, a regular Frisco Revenue tank photo has been acquired and is presently on its way to me. I don't know if it is the 8K or the 10K version, but I've been told it is an excellent picture and it will be produced. If the car is an 8K, then you will be able not only to use it on the W&R, but on the new F&C Resin Hi Walk. Good things coming! Manny
Manny, I'm very glad to hear this. I'll certainly be in the market for the K-CC&S and its "Fort Scott" and "Memphis" relatives. I don't know if you ever managed to locate a photo of a KCC&S car, although I know a few people pointed you toward the SLSF paint color diagrams at Missouri State, which include a KCC&S boxcar. I think you're probably aware that the number depicted in that diagram clashes with the KCC&S boxcar numbers reported in ORERs of the period. Whatever number you use for the KCC&S car(s), it will be good to have some good decals for that and all the other "Fort Scott family". (People who have strong opinions one way or the other can always cut up decals to change numbers.) My thoughts on modeling KCC&S cars have inclined toward using the resin 34' St. Charles Car Co. boxcar kit made by Silver Crash Car Works, since I know that the St. Charles company built other rolling stock for the KCFS&M and its subsidiaries in that period. Any thoughts on that subject? http://silvercrashcarworks.com/34footslidingdoorboxcar.html
I have a 34' St. Charles Car Co., one piece cast resin that will be going to the casters here shortly. It will work for your KCC&S, and family. I WILL NOT release any decal that is incorrect. All numbers and reporting marks will match the ORER.
I am starting out in HO Scale as the resin cars I am producing will be in HO Scale. The only idea of larger resin in On3/30. But that's a stretch right now. As for decals, I will contact my decal maker and find out exactly how easy it is to change scales. The issue is that I have a minimum to purchase and I have to be able to sell them to at least break even. I don't know much about the large scale trains, or "O", and "S" to gauge market strength for decals. It will be something I will need to look into, but that might take a little time.
Manny, The reason the decals I made for Tom where done in Corel Draw was I produced them in HO scale size, if you wanted say S scale, all that was necessary was to re scale the decal artwork to S scale ratio which was easily done in Corel Draw.
