Does anyone manufacture flashing crossing signals in anything close to 1:4 scale?

What bulb type will stand up best to flashing on/off repeatedly for 4-6 hours per night in a Christmas display?

Well, LEDs would last the longest. Most any bulb would work. If I was going to use a bulb I would stay with an 1134 single element. The bulbs are cheap, the sockets can be bought at any good automotive store, and they should last for a few years or so. You can also buy replacement 1134 bulbs with LED elements...

You might have to consider what flasher circuit and voltage you're going to use. An outdoor 12 volt landscape light power supply might be your best choice for power.
