Hi Ya'll Val Dasho is part of a train show tomorrow in Maplewood, Mo. It is called Train O Rama, subtitled the Kirkwood Train Show. I don't know how big this is, but Val told me to be sure and be there. He almost sounded desperate! We'll give it a go and see whats up. It will be at the American Legion Post 103, 3212 Sutton Blvd. Maplewood, Mo., from 9am to 2pm. Admission is $5.00, kids under 12 free. For any familiar with the area, [ Don?], you can see the MoP tracks from the building, just north of Greenwood. While I do not have a " All Aboard " badge yet, my Frisco shirt will have to do. Catch ya later, Dan
Dan - I will not be able to make it to Maplewood tomorrow as my wife has me booked up with a bunch of stuff. Tell Val Dasho "Hello" from me if you see him. Ask him to consider getting back in the model railroad hobby shop business and to set up a decent shop like the one he had for years here in Kirkwood/Des Peres. We need it badly! Ken
Can do, Ken. I think by the way he talked, he may be headed in that direction. We will see. Maybe he learned something from his older days! Dan
Just returned from Vals " Train O Rama" He evidently is the organizer of these events. He said to tell all " Hey"! There will be another one in July at Concordia Lutheran Church, 505 S. Kirkwood Rd. on July 18. I told him to get more large scale! There were a great deal of Frisco items for sale in most scales. Pretty crowded in the A.L. building, but we did have a U.P. freight shake us good!! Later, Dan
I was at the Train O Rama helping out at the Wabash Historical Society. I had my "Frisco Spoken Here" sign out. Only one person noticed. I guess I will need one of the new name tags. Dealers were fewer this time and most of the afternoon the dealers had the place to themselves. Val blamed the very nice weather for the less than expected turn out. |-|
Dwain - Val needs to do a bit better job on pub for these events. I, for one, didn't know about it in advance. When is the next one scheduled? Ken
Don't forget- this Saturday at the Lutheran Church on Kirkwood Road. Val Dasho's Train-O -Rama. I will be entertaining my grandsons on the St. Louis, Iron Mountain & Southern this weekend. Oh, darn!! Later, Dan
