FYI ..... I received my copy of the TRRA H&TS publication for 2012 today, this one on the joint Rock Island/Burlington "Zephyr Rocket" between St Louis and Minneapolis/St Paul. 163 pages, including a timetable and a copy of a diner menu. Not a Frisco topic, but looks to be a good read anyway on an attractive train run by two fellow midwest roads. Many good St Louis and StLUS scenes, some in color. Yet another very fine piece of work done by Larry Thomas and others in the TRRA H&TS. Ken
My copy arrived today, and as usual, Larry has done a bang-up job. The dues I pay to TRRA H&TS are well worth it. GS
Take a look at the photo on page 142 of the TRRA issue. The engine with its steam up is Frisco Pacific 1050--maybe leaving with the St. Louis connection of the Sunnyland or the little Tr. 5 local. Tom
Is there a HO model of a TRRA caboose available, or does it need to be built from scratch. I plan on running an interchange train from Chouteau to Lindenwood yards.
No exact TRRA cab models that I know of, so I would think scratchbuilding is the only option. FYI, TRRA H&TS Issue 71 (the 2011 issue) is dedicated to "Cabooses on the Terminal Railroad". I think this issue is still available if you don't have it. There is also a short section devoted to International Car Company, who built the Frisco wide vision 200 (later 1200) series cabs. Several of the little TRRA two-window cabs are on display around the area, including one in Puxico, MO that is decorated in ..... Frisco colors. Bowser offered their nice VO-660 and DS-4-4-1000 models in TRRA colors, both the gray and red versions, and Broadway offered their NW/SW model in TRRA colors (red I think - don't recall if it was a NW2 or a SW7).
