Managed to coax two of the grandkids away from their computer games long enough to reach the milestone of operating two trains simultaneously on the layout.

Had de-rails on the curved turnout. I caught the left front wheel on the lead truck climbing the rail like this. Couldn't find anything on the rail, but after checking all four wheels of the lead truck, I found that the right rear wheel was dropping in a depression at the frog. The floor (name?) was too low allowing it to drop and lifting the opposite side.

Reminds me of adjusting race car chassis...

I added a new "floor" to help.

    Well done on all counts!

"Wheel drop": From what I understand it can be a common issue with model track products. You seemed to have solved the problem by decreasing the depth of the flange way at the frog. Good job!

Hopefully, your grand kids enjoyed the experience?

Looking good Craig congrats on getting the kids to run trains.

    Is that a Peco switch?

    I believe it is.

    Not at home to check.

On all of my Peco switches I added a .015 shim to the outside guard rails to help keep the flanges from picking the frog point.

Not a single problem since. I think I used .015 x .060 styrene strips from evergreen and just plastic glue cemented it in place.

    Painted with Micromark neolube.

    Yes, they did.

"Flangeway", that was the term I was lacking.

The layout is looking really nice.

And that's cool, sharing the railroading bug with the young guys.

Wiring of the generic yard has begun.

    Changed plan.

Right hand ladder will extend a little further and be for car storage/classification.

Left hand ladder will lead to a car and engine shops.

Worked on wiring a bunch of the main yard and cleaned up wiring a little underneath the layout.

Changed my mind. Going to place the diesel shops by the car shops (small ones).

Got back to working on the layout. Got the main yard wired up.

Have to add more feeders to the 3 way turnout at the throat, add shims to the guard rail per Mr Holley's guidance, then it'll be ready for ballast, cleaning, and NO-OX-ID.

Not strictly Frisco, but the Missouri and Arkansas Motorailer plied the Ft Smith sub between Seligman and Wayne MO.

A big thank you to our own Craig M. for designing the ACF Motorailer shell. Now to source the decals. [Edit: I thought Craig Marheineke was a member of Frisco dot org, maybe was but isn't now?]

    Looking good!

Have you had good results with the NO OX ID? I've watched a couple youtube videos discussing it, but haven't really dug into it.

One must be very careful with NO OXid. All it takes is the slightest film; rub on with a finger and wipe off most with a paper towel. Any more than that causes traction issues. Mineral spirits (low odor) will do the best combination of cleaning stuff off the rail, leave the slightest residue that will help the track stay clean and minimize the creation of micro-arcing residue which shows up as black gunk.

I'll take Keith's recommendations to heart. I haven't used it yet. I appreciate user insights.
