Bridge floor has been installed and a train has made two loops. Need to level the track out and add feeder wires to this section, then glue it down. Incidentally, the Central Valley Model Works instructions for the 1906 bridge girders (Pratt 150' Truss) were a little sparse, but a picture from the 'girder only' ad supplied the lacking alignment guidance for assembling the A-B girders.
Definitely challenging my skill level. Going to have to putty some of the joint gaps and the gusset plates cover some flaws, but the angle cuts are workable so far.
That Central Valley bridge will look great. The one downside to modeling West Texas is the lack of bridges.
How are Central Valley instructions and parts fit? Campbell has a wood Howe truss kit I’ve wanted for many years but haven’t had the courage to even think of. https://www.campbellscalemodels.com/mobile/Product.aspx?id=37405
The detail is nice, the writer of the instructions and I, are on different wavelengths. I had to use videos, pictures from ads and more to figure out what steps meant or how to pull them off and I'm not quite done. Whether that's on him or me, who knows. I probably should've used a miter box of sorts, too. That said, it is still a nice model. Not for beginners.
Test fitting. Still needs shoes, top cross braces, side braces and the gaps filled, but together enough to use while the kids and grandkids are here.
Oops. Hand Controller (HC2) executed an unauthorized dynamic gravity test. Gravity still works, but the display screen is the worse for wear. HC appears to work but the display needs to be replaced. Will be sending it in for repair. Need to invest in a holster to attach a lanyard to it. Fun was being had...
HC-2 is repairable at a reasonable price, but apparently sat on a shelf for years. Battery was 10 years old. Short version, they made me an offer on a new HC-2B I couldn't refuse.
More track down in Seligman's yard. Passing siding/arrival/departure prepped. Feeder wires dropped for both.
That looks really good Craig. I have a question. That RH switch in the first photo has an S curve afterwards looks to have a little kink in it. It might lead to some coupling issues in operations. Is there any way to put that switch before the LH switch? Or can you get a curved RH switch if you can't. I think it might help you down the road good Sir.
The yard layout there (switch order) is an attempt to mimic prototype. Yes, I'll probably have to re-work that kink some more or swap as you suggest. You should've seen the kink the first time... improved but... Thank you Sir.
Progress wiring Seligman Yard. Need to tidy up the wiring, but they're connected. And little progress on the stand-in businesses.
It is adjustable. I have halved the start samples, looping samples, and stop samples values by half. Which, if I understand correctly halves the time duration of each portion of the effects cycle. I'll have to download the updated light effect file into the locomotive module. To see if it works.
