    Hi Fellow Railroaders,

I'm a carman with the BNSF (Been Nothing Since Frisco) Railroad. I hired on with the SLSF in the car shops at Rosedale, KS in 1969. Those of you who follow the mergers know the rest. I plan on retiring the end of 2009 with 40+ years knocking cars. I've worked most jobs available to us car toads from working in the yards, road truck, wrecker service, customer service, relief supervisor, material handler and yes, working on the rip where I currently am at Murray yard, N.K.C., MO. I'm looking forward to meeting up with old friends and co-workers from the "coon |-| skin" line.

    Doyle,

Did you happen to know anyone named Deffebaugh (Shawnee, KS) there at Rosedale? Mark Davidson and I bought a lot of his Frisco paper and memorabilia in his estate sale about 3-4 years ago.

Let me know if you like to operate. Sounds like you are in KC.

    Ship IT on the Frisco!

No, I'm sorry I don't anyone named Deffebaugh. He wasn't in the Car Department but could have been in the Operating Department or Track Department. I didn't know a lot of those guys. As far as me liking to operate, I assume you mean, model railroading. I have rolling stock in 3 different scales (O, HO & Z) but don't have a layout to run them on. I'm planning on rebuilding my Lionel set after I retire and then possibly building something for HO, if I don't sell it first. I do live in the Kansas City area and have for most of my life.

    Thanks for the response,

    Doyle...................

    Doyle,

Hope you are enjoying retirement. Did you know Andy Claxton or Larry Joe Rawson? Both were carmen at Rosedale and probably started about when you did. They are both my cousins. Unfortunately Andy passed away a few years ago. I lost track of where Larry Joe is working but at one time he worked at Murray Yard on the BN business train cars.
