The latest Model Railroader came yesterday, and Trainworld has a blowout sale on FA-1 and FB-1 sets. I took a chance earlier today and asked if they had Frisco sets available.
"No," the gentleman who answered the phone said, "we have Seaboard and Saint Louis-Santa Fe."
    "SLSF?" I asked.
"Yes, SAL--that's Seaboard Air Line, and SLSF--that's Saint Louis-Santa Fe."
    "I'll take the SLSF."

And Rodney Dangerfield thought he had problems.

Make sure you ask for SLSF! |-|

You know that was almost a reality at one time. They talked of a merger but nothing came of it. I would have prefered that over the big green monster take over. Anybody else think of a better merger partner?

I agree the yellow is a little bright but the detail, lettering font size, etc are pretty nice. AND they got closer than Stewart did a few years ago with their F7s with the faded out yellow and double thick font on the FRISCO.

I run mine currently without any weathering but may weather them in the near future which will tame that wild yellow down some.

What is Trainworld wanting for their units in their blow out sale?

Ship IT on the Frisco !

Too good a deal to pass up.

I have Walther's Trainline FA-1 in UP someone gave me for Christmas, and I stripped the paint, and was filing off the dynamic, shaving grabs, etc. I was going to paint for Frisco, but I guess I don't need to now...It's in the pile with all my other projects.

I just went to their website and it says they are $39.99. I wonder if one called them if they could get it for the advertised price in the magazine.

The website doesn't get updated very often. I think the magazine price is correct.

Bad news--Trainworld left a message on my answering machine while I was at work today, and said my roadname was out of stock. :(

Should have called them sooner, I guess.
