Greetings, my name is Ed Bowles. I have been out of railroad modeling for about ten years now and rekindled an interest in the Frisco in N scale. For the moment I'm merely an armchair modeler, with my main interest in rescuing N scale train set rolling stock and converting them to accurate Frisco models. This website is a gold mine for info on the Frisco and has help me immensely in my efforts. I am attempting to model the mid sixties transition era (B/Y to O/W) with a little heavy and light weight passenger action. Oddball Decals would have been my go to source for N scale decals, it saddens me to read of its demise, he put out a fine product. I look forward to reading of you modeling efforts, thanks. Ed

P.S. I have attached a photo of a couple of my future projects.

Ed, by all means, Welcome Aboard. There are plenty of N scalers on the forum and I know of at least one in the Springfield area. Do you intend to primarily be a modeler, or are you interested in scale operations as well?

Thanks, I do plan to incorporate some sort of prototypical operations in the future. But, right now I'm content with just the modeling aspect. Ed

Good to see a Ozark, guy on here. Wy wife's family was from Ozark, farm out east of town. The Frisco used to run through the property, although it was the Chadwick line and gone before I went down there. I could see the old roadbed though.
Jefferies place, you might know where that is. Sold now, but a great place. We still have relatives there and they now own part of the old farm.

My cousin lives in Ozark. I've been there many times. Good place. :)

Oddly enough I live within sight of Kissick on the Ozark/Chadwick Branch and I grew up a couple of blocks from where the Ozark/Chadwick Branch diverges from the mainline in downtown Springfield. Ed

Good to have another "Ozark-American" on the site! I have cousins in Ozark, one is a preacher. Most of my moms family worked for the Frisco.

    Welcome.

My sister lives in Ozark now, and we grew up I'm Southeast Springfield. The Ozark branch was the closest line to our house. My dream layout is a large n scale switching layout based on the Ozark Branch. One of these days I might have space to build the layout.

I certainly have more information about the line now than when I started the quest for information in the late 90s, but if you have any insight or observations, I would be glad to hear it.
