My parents grew up in southeastern Kansas in the town of West Mineral. The town was on an MKT line but the Frisco main line through Columbus was only a few miles away. I railfanned the Frisco while in the service at the Army base in Lawton, OK in 1971.
I came across this site while doing a google search on the NEO (Northeast Oklahoma RR). There was a link to pictures of the NEO at Corona, KS which brought me to this web site.

While my modeling interests are oriented toward the Illinois Central RR in western Kentucky, I maintain an interest in the Frisco railroad. I am a member of the National Historical Railroad Society, Louisville and Nashville Historical Society, and the Illinois Central Historical Society.

I am retired from the General Electric Co. and spent a year in Erie at the locomotive assembly plant on a management training program in 1973. We produced some units for the Frisco during my time there.

Welcome aboard! Many years ago I had an ex-NEO speeder (Fairmont M-19), but I sold it to finance my first live steamer.
Not a good picture, but here I am at the controls, not too far from Mindenmines back in the mid '80's...

Jim, Welcome Aboard! We have people from all over the country and some from other parts of the world here. I hope you find the forum entertaining and useful. Please share any Frisco pictures or stories you might have. Your time with GE sounds like it was interesting, especially for a railfan.
