Hi, I'm Doug, I'm an autocad designer for a civil engineering firm in California, and i'll actually be going back to grad school in Jaunary, given the state of the economy and how slow things are in my industry. A few years ago I lived in Missouri for a while and came to really love the Frisco. I draw and model locomotives in cad as a hobby.

A request: Has anyone ever seen a published scale drawing (any scale) of Frisco's 4500 class 4-8-4's; and if so, where? I just got back from the library where I thumbed through the March 1943 issue of Railway Mechanical Engineer and read the description of the locomotives. Lots of data but, alas, no drawing. I've also tried looking through old Mainline Modeler issues, also with no luck, but I might have missed it.

Thanks, and look forward to talking with you guys.
    Doug

Thanks, I really appreciate that. I plan to get to Springfield to measure and photograph the 4524, and I should be able to add some more detail to that 50-year-old RMC drawing and then post it where everyone can use it.

Doug, if you ever get interested in buildings, I'm sure there are folks who would appreciate some stand-ins and mockups. I was creating buildings for folks in Autocad before I got into ModelBuilder, but cad may be only way to work up a complicated building. Sharing might mean dwf that Kinkos could print on large sheet for someone. I'm never sure that pdfs will come out right size.
I did start trying to assemble a mockup for a large station (not Frisco) but the roof forms slowed me down and I got distracted. I do need to go back and finish it, it would be a good touch on his layout.
For my layout I need to work up the Fort Smith depot (N scale but if done right, it could be a resource.)
