Bachmann has announced at the National Train Show plans to produce a USRA 2-8-2 Light Mikado in HO scale for several roads including the Frisco. Their will be 3 tender options produced as per the prototype with the Frisco one having the middle length version. The model will be equipped with NMRA 8-pin DCC plug and have an MSRP of $299. No release date was given.

I believe that they only had a pilot model (Pere Marquette) or photo of a pilot model there. Way to early in the process to tell.

I'll be sure to buy one for my fledgling N scale Frisco loco fleet. Then I'll have a Mikado, an RS2 and an SD45. Plus I have plans to make my Atlas 4-4-0 a Frisco loco as well. A loco for each era!:)

The January 2016 issue of Model Railroader has an advertisement from Bachmann saying that these are now shipping. The ad indicates it is #4027.

There is also a Bachmann photo at:

    or

Anyone here have a copy in-hand? Any reviews? Thoughts from this photo? Looks like a low-end model in terms of detail...wrong tender, etc.

    Thanks,

    -Bob T.
