FYI ... I saw a notice in today's St. Louis Post-Dispatch that Martin Pomphrey, who served as Assistant to the President of the Frisco until he retired, passed away on December 31. Ken
Thanks for posting, Ken. Mr. Pomphrey was "keynote" speaker at Chaffee's "Frisco Day" during the town's Diamond Jubilee celebration in 1980; his comments can be found at http://www.chaffeehistory.com/Archives/Pomphrey_Speech.htm For years, getting to tour a new bay-window caboose in O/W, along with a (shudder) O/W business car and a locomotive were the biggest events in my young life. They still rank pretty high up there!
