Hello All, I was just noticing on a 1901 Frisco map that there was a railway that closely paralleled the Frisco's high line from Kansas City southward. It is shown on the map as a thinner line than the Frisco's main, but still looks to be part of their system. I assume long abandoned by the looks of the roadbed on Google maps. Can anyone enlighten me as to what this was? Thanks

It was the Kansas City, Clinton and Springfield Rwy. Affiliated with the Memphis Road, it remained "independent" until '24. It is still much beloved by several of us, who frequent this this site. It was nick-named the Leaky Roof, and it later became the Frisco's Osceola Sub. It was abandoned piecemeal, and it was gone by 1934. There are numerous threads and posts on this site that discuss line. Try the site's search feature to learn more.

Thanks, Karl. I'll look through the site. It must have an interesting history. Curious to see when it was built relative to the Frisco, how it survived, etc. ----just looked online now that you gave me the name--actually quite a bit of info online.
