And some re-lettering with decals will allow the Texas Special car(s) to be modeled also. After all they ran quite a while longer than the PRR cars decorated for the Meteor. Now if we N scale modelers can only live long enough for Walthers to offer it in our scale... Tom

It appears that your efforts have improved the accuracy of this product. I may even buy one to see how they dealt with the shadow striping! Re: Walthers Pennsylvania "Meteor" Sleeper The Cascade Range had the "Neon" script Texas Special on the main letterboard, and the small letter boards at each end were lettered in the same style, Pullman. Also worth a look if you can find it is the TRRA Historical and Technical Society's Issue 35- Autumn 1995, which covers the B&O through Pullmans with the Frisco/Katy and MP.
Re: Walthers Pennsylvania "Meteor" Sleeper Both of the Cascade series PRR cars painted in shadowlining for The Texas Special had The Texas Special Script lettering in the Letterboards. The reports I've seen indicated this was also true for the Rapids series cars, but I haven't seen photographs to verify this. The two Cascade series cars used in the Meteor had PENNSYLVANIA in the letterboards. Paul
Re: Walthers Pennsylvania "Meteor" Sleeper I have the PRR Historical Society's "Pennsylvania RR Passenger Car Painting And Lettering Guide." According to that, the 10-5 cars "Cascade Meadow" and "Cascade Range" were the cars painted with the Texas Special script. "Cascade Brim" and "Cascade Ravine" were lettered with "Pennsylvania" in Railraod Roman style for Meteor service. Later on in the 1950's (ca. 1953), the Cascade cars were painted back to the PRR Tuscan scheme and 10-6 cars "Swatara Rapids" and "Tioga Rapids" were painted in the red/silver/shadowline scheme with Texas Special "neon" script. Re: Walthers Pennsylvania "Meteor" Sleeper Gordon--The only photo (other than builders') of ANY of the "Cascade" cars I've seen was of "Cascade Meadow" at New York Sunnyside Yards taken May, 1948. That picture is in the PRR Historical Society's painting and lettering book. Looks like some other shots of those cars would have turned up here or there?? Tom

It would just have to be re-lettered in the Texas Special's "neon" script. The actual car names have escaped me at the moment. I have to look them up every time... Tom

Cascade Brim... Gordon--Reference your inquiry about an in-service photo of "Cascade Brim," there's a 1967 photo (In Tuscan livery at Chicago) of the car in "PRR Color Guide to Freight and Passenger Equipment, Vol. 3" page 28 (Morning Sun, 2002). FYI. Tom

Actually, in-service photos of ANY of the PRR Pullmans in red-and-silver, either with or without shadowlines, would be great to find. The one at Sunnyside Yard that has already been mentioned is the only one of any of the cars of which I am aware.
