Agreed, Don. Since my layout room doubles as a workshop/storage area, I need/want something that puts the focus on the layout and removes the focus from flea-market appearance underneath the benchwork. The drop cloth dimensions would work perfectly for me with a 48-50" layout height. I set those dimensions out of consideration for my kids, before I realized my son would be 6' or taller. Best Regards,
Guys, John's layout and his scenery work is truly a thing of beauty and really captures the setting of the railroad. I need to take time next trip to St Louis and get some better pictures of his layout than what I currently have.
The RS 1's are Atlas! I believe they are no longer in production. Too bad, they are really smooth running locos! John
Just because they are out of production doesn't mean they don't appear. I picked mine up off of ebay a couple of years ago.
There are more pictures of my layout and pictures of other fine layouts in the St. Louis area. www.gatewaynmra.org click on to photo layout tours. https://www.gatewaynmra.org/2014/john-peluso-frisco-lines-eastern-division-model-railroad/
Splendid work, John. Nice Geep in first-generation striping, Pullman-green heavyweights. A lot to like here; the backdrop of houses is especially well done in terms of adding a lot of realistic depth to the scene.
FYI, This train appears in the Frisco In Color book on page 71 by Louis A Marre - Gregory J. Sommers. This train is also in my layout operations schedule. I don't have Newburg, I have Dillon, makes a station stop there and returns.
