Intermountain's black and yellow Frisco FP-7 has been put off YET AGAIN, this time (they say) one month until July. I hope I live to see it...

PS: If you detect sarcasm every time I mention Intermountain, you're very perceptive...

Quite frankly, I am glad about that. My credit card can't handle it right now.

First they cancelled the orange and white long ago, and now delay number eight?!!! Why even bother?! It's tempting to get a buncha kato F7 shells and batch paint em and share some with others to finally kill the wait!

All I can offer as encouragement is that the IM HO FP7 is fairly nice, and runs great, so the N-scale model may be well worth the wait.

The HO body shell needs some detail additions and a couple of minor fixes, but otherwise was well done. Can't say the same for the F7B's that came out with it!

I wrote a short article for The Meteor on detailing the IM Frisco b/y FP7, but alas with the recent tragic loss of our friend Richard, it was not able to be published.

I usually run the FP7 now as the second unit behind a P2K Racehorse E8. They run very well together.

Bwahahahahahahaha!!!! We ain't ever gonna see 'em! At least we know what never to make reservations for! At this point, it's probably better to pester Kato/Micro-Trains for an F7 run. At least they would say yes or no without stringing us along!

To be fair, intermountain moved every locomotive that was listed as July to August, so they aren't picking on us.

I'm NEVER going to make another pre-order reservation! Every single thing I have pre-ordered has been easily available at M. B. Klein/Model Train Stuff after the final release date.

Same here - maybe we can have more made in USA N Scale someday so we no longer have to bribe customs for a longer wait!

I talked to the intermountain Rep today at the National Train Show and asked him about the N scale Frisco FP7s.

He said we are realistically looking at October or November on these. They switched factories and the process has taken longer than expected.

He indicated drivetrain samples from the new factory were approved last month, and Shell samples should be coming in for approval soon.

Tom - They must be afraid to do it. :) Maybe they remember all the flak they caught after their earlier HO Frisco FP7-F7B release!

Both Intermountain and my dealer of choice are indicating these will be delivered to dealers this week.

Now I need to clear a few projects off my workbench so I can install decoders.

I just recieved my 4 FP7s and three F7Bs. My first impression, having only taken one out of the box, is that these things are beautiful.

I will need to do a some detailing work to them, because I model a late date for the yellow and black scheme, but they do look nice.

Paul - Did they get the d/b matter correct on the "N's"? The HO set several years back had no d/b on the FP7 (correct) but did have d/b's on the F7B's (incorrect). Hope they got it right for you guys.
