hello everyone. im glad to be here. i live in comanche, tx. the frisco ran through here until 1937, i believe, when the line was sold to the santa fe. it was originally Fort Worth and Rio Grande. the town is restoring the depot here, and they call it the Frisco depot instead of the santa fe depot. i think that is great since the frisco built it. great site, looking forward to being here. thanks.....

    Howdy Steve,

Welcome aboard. Indeed, the Frisco was all over Texas at one point or another.

I live in Granbury, just up the road from you. If you are ever in Fort Worth on Thursday or Saturday evenings, please stop by the Texas Western Model RR Club (www.texaswesternmrc.org) and introduce yourself.

    Have fun on Frisco.org,
    mike

    Welcome from another Steve.
If you're in Comanche, do you ever get out with the live steam guys? I have some friends that make it down there every year.
Heck, if there's a Frisco depot I might want to make the trip with them. Maybe get some photos for Mark and the other Friscophiles.

    Steve,

Current photographs of the restoration efforts on the Comanche depot would be great.

We have a thread with some photographs, but we all enjoy more in depth information. Detail photographs are also important, and photos of the interior would be fantastic.

Please see the following link. http://www.frisco.org/vb/showthread.php?t=2576&highlight=comanche

    Hope this helps.

    Thanks!

the only live steam im aware of is in priddy, tx, about 18 miles south. i need to get down there and check it out. i forget the mans name, but i can find out very easy. the railroad was featured in model railroader a few years back. cant believe i cant recall his name right now, the big 5-0 is approaching fast!
The depot is coming along slowly. the city has a big fundraiser going and some money is coming in. the roof is fixed so no more water damage. i remember going in there in the very early 80's when i was trying to get hired by the santa fe. those were the last days of it being occupied by an agent. i'll try to get some pics soon.
ok...who actually built it, frisco. or ft. worth and rio grande?

Hello from SA. The Frisco got down here on trackage rights with the SA&AP and its connection in Kerrville. Lots of good Frisco folk here. You'll enjoy it.

    Welcome!
