HOInterchange (formerly HOYardsale)

A few months ago, I signed up to recieve emails from HOInterchange (formerly HOYardsale) in hopes of coming across HO scale Frisco items for sale. The issue I've ran into is recieving a large volume of emails... so many that I don't want to take the time to scan them all for Frisco items. Is there a way to filter the emails from HOInterchange for Frisco items only?

 

You'll probably have to make your requests for the items more specific. I usually make requests (On the N Scale Yard Sale) for a specifc item by name. For example, just the other day, I asked if anyone had a Walthers-Life Like-Proto USRA 0-8-0 switch engine and got several replies. I'm awaiting delivery on one of the engines right now. The whole thing (Request, replies, order) only took about two days!

Apparently I'm getting emails about everything. Can I do anything to narrow down the emails I recieve to only Frisco related items?

 

Sounds like it's all automated and can't be very specific. I'd just un-subscribe and figure some other way to list your wants. Like just asking for "Frisco engines" or "Frisco cabbose."

As far as I know your answer to the filter question is NO specifically but SORT-OF generally. Change your preferences to DIGEST MODE and you will receive bundled messages with the title to the messages at the top and the specific messages below them. If you see one that interests you click on it and your email browser will jump down to it. At the bottom of the message at he left will appear a small "Back to Top". Upon clicking on it you will b returned to the top of the digest. This applies to all Yahoo Groups and if you don't know how to change your message delivery preference post back and I will help you. Hopes this helps!

 

Just leave delivery settings normal, go to the group page, click messages and there is a search bar. Search either Frisco or SLSF, sometimes a listing could have one or the other or both.

IMHO, Yahoo Groups is wwwwwwwaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy overdue for a complete overhaul. The current format just does not work anymore. The idea was great in the beginning, but the groups are too big, with too many inquires and finding what you want is a royal PITA. I'm about to unsubscribe to HOInterchange because of the billion of useless emails.

 

I'll triple SABRR's motion there....this is the clumsiest forum set up....Yahoo Groups that is...I have ever encountered.

I guess it's because there are many more HOers than N Scalers, but the N Scale Yard Sale is pretty handy for me. I just received some detail parts today and have an engine on the way. On these groups, you still need to be specific--With what you're trying to find or sell. On the internet you're dealing with thousands not dozens. People and items...It's like the guy on here the other day offering to sell old Frisco items. He never did post any lists and he's not ever going to sell anything doing it that way.

Guys - It's not that hard.
On the Yahoo site, Set your email preference to moderator only.
When you want to see only certain items - Go to the Yahoo site and enter the item in the search box.
This is 30 seconds of extra work, but it stops all the hundreds of listings that will flood your inbox.
