My plans for the evening were rained out so I decided to look for a drawing of a ES44C4 and give it a "best of both" heritage scheme. I think it turned out pretty nice. (Even managed to get a little |-| in there.) It should be attached.

What's with the gangreen? Get rid of it and make it |-| colors

  3. Here is a better one I did. It isn't totally finished though. It still needs the Frisco on the sides. I'd also make the stripes alittle wider. I made this on paint and used a preformed template I found online. Enjoy!:)
    Ship it on the Frisco!!!

Murphy, can you send a larger version of it in a jpg format. bmp is too blurry to enlarge.

screams KCS but the windows arrangement could be an aftermarket add on

  7. Sorry I'll try to enlarge it when I get home from work today.:(

It is a ES44C4. Only BNSF has them, and they only have 25 so far.....
It's the same thing as a ES44AC, but it only has 4 traction motors instead of 6, so the trucks have the same A1A arrangement as an E unit.

  9. Hopes this works...[IMG]

Looks preatty good..... for a wide cab. One problem, BNSF don't AC6000CW's

  11. It is just to show that a modern engine can be Friscoized. By the time BNSF got around to working on a heritage scheme they may have some used AC6000CW's.

I like it -- I always have like b&y better than the later o&w. As far as I know, all of the remaining unrepowered C60's are on CSX and I see them regularly from my office. As you would expect, they sound different than the C40/C44's having a more deep-throated rumble. A pair of b&y ones on a hot Frisco (the merger never happened) intermodal train storming up Dixon Hill would cause the earth to shake and might even get Don Wirth to take notice (sorry Don)!

Well Murphy, unless they second hand purchased them from CSX, BNSF cant get any of em, thanks to EPA

    Would this be Frisco enough?

A takeoff of the "racehorse" passenger scheme from the E8s applied to an SD70MAC. Kind of a 21st century "Redbird"( slang term for Frisco's passenger units).

Sorry, but the SD70MAC just can't hold a candle to the graceful profile of the E8. Now try the same with an Acela locomotive and the Redbird scheme - you might have something!

I agree. I think you are on to something here!

  19. This saturday I worked on the A&M Excursion Train as a volunteer Conductor. Well my friend Barry worked with me and he introduced me to another teenage railfan in the area. Well now we all share a common goal of seeing a A&M engine repainted as a heritage unit into Frisco colors. It would be a prime time to do this because A&M's 25th birthday is coming up. Here is a diagram of a C-420 in B&Y I made. I tried to letter this better, but this the the best I could do. I didn't put these on the diagram but full stripes on the nose adn Chevrons on the rear of the engine would be nice. Also I made two angled safety stripes. It would also look good seeing those all the way down the frame. Hope you enjoy!
